American Contractor , Mr.Palmer Tronsen Detained in Singapore Following Illegal Hiring Incident and Workplace Accident.
An American contractor from Maryland, identified as Mr. Palmer Tronsen, has been detained in Singapore after an incident involving the illegal employment of workers led to serious injuries and damaged medical supplies. Mr. Palmer, who arrived in the country to both supply and procure medical devices, reportedly bypassed local labor union protocols during a recent business transaction. In a rush to expedite operations before leaving the country, he hired daily-wage workers directly at a loading bay to handle the offloading and delivery of his shipment—circumventing the official employment process. The incident occurred while the unionized professionals designated for the task were on holiday. During the unregulated operation, an accident took place, resulting in serious injuries to two of the illegally hired workers and significant damage to medical equipment.

Local authorities confirmed that Mr. Palmer failed to provide insurance or any form of worker protection, a direct violation of labor regulations. The national labor union has since condemned the incident, stating that the workers’ rights were “grossly violated.”
While the local business associate is seeking full financial restitution for the damaged goods, the company’s legal team stated that they remain open to pursuing criminal charges for breach of contract. Meanwhile, Singaporean authorities have taken Mr. Palmer into custody and are proceeding with legal action to hold him accountable for his actions.
Mr. Palmer is currently being held at Changi Federal Prison pending further court proceedings.News360 Extra will provide further details in a subsequent bulletins
